Tia Carrere - An Intimate Hawaiian Dinner and Concert - Thursday, May 26, 2011; 7pm-11pm
San Francisco, CA
Thursday, May 26, 2011; 7pm-11pm
Enjoy an evening of traditional Hawaiian music performed by multi-Grammy-musician Daniel Ho and actress and grammy award-winning musical artist, Tia Carrere.
"This (album) is Hawaiian in terms of the primary language she’s singing but Ho has looked to European composers for the melodies. Piano rather than ukulele or acoustic guitar is the primary instrument as he explores the works of Puccini, Schumann, Beethoven, Brahms and several others. The soothing lullabies that result are also suitable for anyone trying to decompress after a stressful day dealing with deadlines or rush hour gridlock." - John Berger, Honolulu Pulse.
After the concert, enjoy meeting and dining with Tia & Daniel, enjoying a multi-course Hawaiian-themed meal prepared by famed Japanese Chef, Kenichi Kawashima, co-owner and chef at Rocketfish Lounge.
1469 18th Street
Rocketfish is the culmination of a longtime dream from owners Marco Rodriguez and Kenichi Kawashima. Both have been passionate about Japanese and Global Cuisine. The Rocketfish menu, though bordering on eclectic, offers solid, classic Japanese food selections while venturing into bold Japanese-infused Tapas. This concert will kick off a new series of entertainment events that Rocketfish Lounge will begin hosting.
